About
Bio
Hi, I’m Chelsea. I invite you to join me on my journey of uncovering resilience, where I empower women leaders in the nonprofit sector to feel more capable, confident, and empowered. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience in helping individuals navigate profound challenges and hardships, including grief, serious illness, and death. My academic foundation was laid at Boston College, where I earned my master’s degree in social work, preparing me for a career dedicated to fostering emotional and psychological resilience. With more than a decade spent in senior and executive leadership positions in the nonprofit industry, I have led teams through times of change and adversity, using my unique insights to cultivate resilience and strength within each team member. My personal journey is a testament to resilience. At 16, I faced the life-altering challenge of paralysis, which forced me to pivot from my aspirations in dance and theater. This experience compelled me to reclaim my life, redefine my identity, and uncover a resilience I never knew I possessed. Learning to love myself and recognize my own strengths through adversity has been a powerful and transformative process. The result of this experience ultimately shaped my leadership style, allowing me to see the untapped potential in my team members and guide them in recognizing their own strengths. Now, as a public speaker, I passionately share my personal and professional story to inspire other leaders to relinquish self-doubt and become more capable, confident, impactful leaders for their teams.
Kintsugi
Chelsea's personal journey resonates deeply with the profound philosophy of Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold lacquer, as seen in the heading picture above. Throughout life's challenges and setbacks, Chelsea has faced moments of brokenness and adversity. Yet, much like the art of Kintsugi, she has embraced the notion that these fractures don't diminish her worth or beauty. Instead, they have become integral parts of her story that now influence her approach to leadership
